Hand made brush rest

Brush rest

I decided to make useful tool for my art from self drying clay. It is not perfect, but it does it`s job pretty good. Very helpful when you need to put down your brush, when it is in paint. I always been frustrated, seeking for spot to put it, on the top of palette or paint is not comfortable or especially, on my art, it would be destroyed.

So, I got a pack of this clay, divided on half and made 2 brush rests, one for me, one for my friend. I made a shape which I need and let it dry, it took 2 days. I picked colors and painted them. I did not think a lot, there were a few colors, almost empty, so, I decided to finish them. I used acrylic paint, it dries fast and it has solid nice colors. Let it dry again and it is ready to use.

I tried that useful tool already and happy to say, it works good, comfortable and very important, I made it myself. I seen at the stores with art supplies this brush rests, but they cost quiet expensive, as for my brush rests, I spent so little money on it and made it, how I want.

I hope this post was useful for you, waiting for your brush rests, if you decide to make it, write a link below on yours, I gladly will check it and make my comment.

    1. Oh, my only tip, to go for a course, unless you willing to buy all told and equipment, which is very expensive. My friend and I went for a lesson, where we have learned that it is not so easy to make, at least not at the beginning. Need to practise, because I almost ruined my first jar by pushing a side of the jar to hard, hands short get used to what pressure you can put to it or maybe does not need one. So, at least one lesson with teacher)
